Founded in 1829 and ranked as one of the best technical universities in Europe and in the Nordics. The International Centre for Indoor Environment and Energy conducts research in energy efficient climate conditioning systems and their integration into buildings. DTU is leading WP4: Concept and Impact validation by field measurements and dynamic computer simulations.

In WP5, DTU is also leading the effort to evaluate the impact of hybrid MPC GEOTABS on Indoor Environmental Quality. It is also involved in WP6 where DTU is leading the task to develop a generic MPC GEOTABS system concept and investigating the potential of PCM Ceiling panels and their implementation for renovation.

PROF. DR. BJARNE W. OLESEN

Bjarne W. Olesen, PhD, Professor, is an internationally recognised expert in thermal comfort, radiant heating and cooling systems, and energy performance of buildings. He has more than 370 publications and numerous national and international awards for his scientific contributions. He is involved in international standardisation in relation to the Indoor Environmnet and Radiant Heating and Cooling Systems (CEN, ISO, ASHRAE). He has a worldwide network being incoming President Elect for ASHRAE, the world largest engineering society for building technology. Prof. Olesen will provide guidance throughout the project based on his extensive experience.

DR. ONGUN BERK KAZANCI

Ongun is a postdoctoral researcher at the International Centre for Indoor Environment and Energy, Technical University of Denmark (DTU). He completed his PhD on “Low Temperature Heating and High Temperature Cooling in Buildings” in 2016 at the Technical University of Denmark. His main research areas are low temperature heating and high temperature cooling systems (particularly water-based radiant heating and cooling systems) and their applications in low-energy and plus-energy buildings, their integration with renewable energy resources, and thermodynamic tools to improve heating and cooling system performance. He has received several grants for external research stays and conference participations, and awards including Professor P.O. Fanger’s award from the Danish HVAC society (DANVAK) in 2014, DTU's Young Researcher Award in 2016, and REHVA Young Scientist Award in 2017. He is a member of DANVAK, IBPSA-Nordic, and is an associate member of ASHRAE, where he is actively involved in several technical committees.
